From recipes that include the most nutritious mix of ingredients to offering educational resources for positive lifestyle habits, healthy options are the result of a team dedicated to advancing the well-being of the entire campus community.

Another important part of our focus on health and wellness is the use of seasonal menus, featuring fresh and healthy ingredients - many of which are grown by local or regional farmers. Every season has its own unique produce that is showcased in delicious signature dishes to highlight the distinct flavors and natural appeal of seasonal items.

For students who have special dietary and nutritional needs we have informational resources and customized menus to address your needs. These menus meet the strictest compliance standards, without sacrificing flavor, texture or presentation.

Allergen Friendly Dining at FSU

NEW THIS FALL! Simple Servings

Simple Servings Logo

    Simple Servings is our new resident dining option, providing safe and appetizing food choices for our customers with food allergies or gluten intolerance.

    The Simple Servings station will not offer foods made with the FDA’s most-common allergens of peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk products, and eggs.  All foods offered will be made without gluten-containing ingredients.   Fish dishes will be included in the varied menu options as a healthy protein choice, along with beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and vegetarian options.  The menu will change with every lunch and dinner. 

    Our kitchen prepares many foods with gluten and the other listed allergens.  Simple Servings staff members are carefully trained to avoid cross-contamination of their menu items.  Although we take precautions, the possibility of cross-contact with other foods does exist.

    While the Simple Servings program is designed to allow customers to have an easy way to avoid gluten and allergens, our chef and dietitian still want to meet all of our customers with special food needs.  Knowing about customer preferences and limitations allows us to plan our menu to best meet everyone’s needs.     Please introduce yourself to the Dining Services Dietitian, Carolyn Holland at

     The Simple Servings program is located in McCarthy Dining Commons, running seven days a week during lunch and dinner weekdays and brunch to dinner on weekends. 

Simple Servings: providing convenient, delicious, and secure options for you.  Focus on your future, not your food allergy.


My Zone which is an allergen aware zone designed to offer food products that are gluten free. My Zone is a self serve area within the dining hall consisting of a stocked refrigerator as well as a designated microwave and toaster. This area is labeled with signage to warn against cross contamination. This station is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Additionally, hot entrees are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the My Zone Hot Station. Please notify your dining managers with further questions regarding foods that are safe for you beyond these 2 designated stations.
