Another important part of our focus on health and wellness is the use of seasonal menus, featuring fresh and healthy ingredients - many of which are grown by local or regional farmers. Every season has its own unique produce that is showcased in delicious signature dishes to highlight the distinct flavors and natural appeal of seasonal items.
For students who have special dietary and nutritional needs we have informational resources and customized menus to address your needs. These menus meet the strictest compliance standards, without sacrificing flavor, texture or presentation.

Helpful Dining Guides
McCarthy Dining Commons is now certified Mindful Gold. Half of the beverages offered are less than 40 calories per serving. More than half of the items on our menu meet the healthy Mindful Criteria and every station offers something Mindful. Healthy does taste great! Just look for the Mindful apple icon.

Choosing a healthy option at FSU has never been easier! Mindful, launched on campus in 2013 is not just becoming a clear success on campus, but getting some huge props across the country. Mindful is making waves and winning awards.
Allergen Friendly Dining at FSU
My Zone which is an allergen aware zone designed to offer food products that are gluten free. My Zone is a self serve area within the dining hall consisting of a stocked refrigerator as well as a designated microwave and toaster. This area is labeled with signage to warn against cross contamination. This station is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Additionally, hot entrees are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the My Zone Hot Station. Please notify your dining managers with further questions regarding foods that are safe for you beyond these 2 designated stations.
